goodbye week(end)...
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I enjoyed some much needed R&R and spent most of it inside, folding, stacking, filing and sorting myself back into a small resemblance of the organized version of myself. I'm happy to say, mission accomplished and I'm ready for the busy week ahead!

a bright and sunny monday!
Time to put the skis away and get into my weekly groove again. Maybe I'll trade them in for these fabulous and flirty heels from Tory Burch.

happy (snowy) weekend....
it's complicated...
What can I say, I'm a true romantic comedy addict and I loved, LOVED, everything about this movie, the sophisticated and relaxed California-inspired interiors, gorgeous kitchens, lush gardens and one pretty chic bakery. Including a star cast with Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep and taking place in the beautiful Santa Barbara (I so want to live there), this movie is completely hilarious and had my mom and I giggling in our seats the entire time. If you haven't seen it, please do. And if you're spending a lot of time cozied up inside these days and buried deep in snow, go ahead and see all of the brilliant Nancy Myers movies, It's Complicated, the Holiday and Something's Gotta Give. All are wonderfully written, beautifully located and well casted. And don't we all agree, sometimes... it's just complicated and this movie makes for a lighthearted laugh about it.

skeleton key style
These little vintage inspired treasures date back to early Colonial America and were used through the 1940s. My inspiration for Pretty Chic's Gold Key books were the gold Tiffany key pendants and I later came across David Linley's playful 'Key' box in a wish list by Elle Decor. The découpage 'estate key' antique glass tray is from Kate's Paperie. Here's to the world of key inspired design!

office be beautiful...
Hello friends, Hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend. Many of us have a lovely little office space somewhere at home. For now, mine is a tiny nook in the window of my small San Francisco kitchen (just one of the many sacrifices we make to live in a big city) but I love this little space because it's exactly where I can relax and focus my creativity. If you're in need of an office redo, here's a few easy ideas I've pulled together.
No. 1: Color Inspiration, by adding fresh paint to your walls and inside bookshelves, you can set the mood for a bright spring makeover. My favorite color for spring: coral.

No. 2: White Inspiration, a clean white desk adds simplicity and provides a blank canvas to get creative with. Try a chic white Parsons Desk from West Elm.

No. 3: Table inspiration, I love a beautiful wood table with character in place of a desk. Try Jason Home & Garden's Palma desk shown below in white washed elm.

Wishing you a little sunshine in your office!

pretty and paradis
The French beauty, Vanessa Paradis, is the new face of Rouge Coco de Chanel and I'm loving the new Spring campaign. Now I'm not usually a fan of lipsticks, I'm a liner and gloss girl, but the romantic and ethereal photography by Mert & Marcus have me hooked. Not to mention the chic palette of colors...
Just in time to start the new year with the perfect pout and a little spring romance!

pretty chic sf in the city of angels soon...
Co-Founders and gals after my own heart, Graphic Designers, Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker believe that personal stationery makes a deep, lasting impression. The close friends founded Sugar Paper in 2003 after falling in love with the simplicity and nostalgia of letterpress printing.
Sugar Paper is a Los Angeles-based stationer, crafting letterpress stationery, invitations and announcements, with two retail locations in Los Angeles: Century City and a second in Brentwood. The shop offers lovely custom design services as well as beautiful pre-printed stationery (shown above) and hand-selected offerings from favorite vendors... like me!
Please drop in and see some of my new line, Pretty Chic SF at a Sugar Paper shop soon!

inspiration can be found everywhere
I'm wholeheartedly devoting my first blog entry to the city I live in, San Francisco... I've been blessed to call this city my home for the last fourteen years. Wow! Everyday I'm fascinated by my surroundings in one of the worlds most beautiful cities, filled with it's tall buildings, whispering cypress trees, beautiful architecture, rich creative culture, ferry docks, sail boats, thick fog and nightly fog horns, and ever-changing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Just look around and I'm sure you too can find inspiration everywhere!
